Ready when you are. Import a video to get started.

Your computer.
Your creative studio.

The desktop engine downloads videos, recognizes speech, and renders your clips. This site is a preview and download page; editing and exporting happen in the local browser window.

  1. Download and unzip ClipForge.
Keep all the extracted files together.
  2. Install Python 3.11 or newer and FFmpeg.
On Windows, select “Add Python to PATH” during installation. Open Terminal and run winget install Gyan.FFmpeg, and winget install DenoLand.Deno for YouTube support, then open a new terminal.
  3. Run Setup, then Start.
    Windows: double-click Setup-Windows.bat, then Start-Windows.bat. macOS/Linux: run bash setup.sh, then bash start.sh.
  4. Your editor opens automatically.
Use http://127.0.0.1:8765. Keep the engine window open while editing. Paste a link, choose your times, generate captions, and export.

YouTube may block downloads or require additional runtime support. Upload your original video if a link fails. Your files and speech models stay on your computer; imports and model downloads need internet access. Delete cached files from the .clipforge folder in your home directory when finished.
